On October 23, 1912 Edmund Saunders of North Kingston passed to his rest at the age of 69 years. Mr. Saunders spent his early days at Hebron, Yarmouth County, the place of his birth. At the age of passing from youth into manhood, from 20 to 21 years, Brother Saunders came into possession of higher life when he was converted and joined the Hebron Baptist Church. Later the deceased moved from Hebron to Harmony, whence he came to dwell with us at North Kingston. Soon after locating, he united with the North Kingston Baptist Church of which he has since been considered a member. Until three weeks before his death, the deceased had enjoyed perfect health and was exceptionly energetic and active for one his age. Paralysis, the dread messenger of death to vigorous old age, overcame the physical energy of our brother and released his spirit to its immortal home. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow, five sons and four daughters, all residents of Kings County. A large number of friends and neighbours gathered on Sunday P.M. October 27th to pay their last respects to a departed brother. The interment was in the North Kingston Cemetery. The service being conducted by his pastor, Rev. I. S. Noylan. Edmund was born in 1843.
