Biography

Margaret Saunders was born in 1850 in Burntisland, Fife, Scotland. She was the daughter of John Saunders and Christian Nicholson.

In the 1851 census Margt (age 1) was the daughter of John Sanders on High Street, Burntisland, Fife.[1]

In the 1861 census Margret (age 10), scholar, was the daughter of John Saunders in Well Close, Burntisland, Fife.[2]

When Margaret was about 21 she married George Proctor on 21 February 1871 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.[3] Their children were:

  2. Christina Nicholson Proctor, born 9 Mar 1873
  3. Betsy Inglis Proctor, born 1876
  4. Margaret Saunders Proctor, born 6 Dec 1877

In the 1871 census Margaret (age 20) was the wife of George Proctor on South Side High St, Kirkcaldy, Fife.[4]

In the 1881 census Margaret (age 30), gardener's wife, was the wife of George Proctor Jr. at 129 High St, Kirkcaldy, Fife.[5]

In the 1891 census Margaret (age 40) was the wife of George Brocton at 131 High Street, Kirkcaldy and Abbotshall, Fife.[6]

In the 1901 census Margt (age 51), fruiterer, was the wife of George Proctor on St Brycedale Avenue, Kirkcaldy and Abbotshall, Fife.[7]

Margaret died on 20 Apr 1924 in Kirkcaldy.[8][9]
