Charles Francis Saunders was born in 1897 in Richmond, Victoria, Australia, the son of Mary Jane Saunders and William Saunders.[1]
He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force, serving with the 8th Australian Infantry Battalion, and was killed in action on 20 Sep 1917 in Belgium. With no known grave, he is commemorated at the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Flanders, Belgium.
