Biography

George Arthur Savage was born in 1885 at Cloud, Kansas, United States. He was the son of James Savage and Emma Carver.

In the 1900 US census, George Savage was age 15 living at Meredith, Cloud, Kansas with his father James Savage (42), mother Emma Savage (41), siblings Inez Savage (13), Sarah Savage (12). Occupation Farm Laborer.[1]

In the 1910 US census, George Savage was age 24 living at Meredith, Cloud, Kansas with his father James Savage (51), mother Emma Savage (51), siblings Inez Savage (23), Sarah Savage (19). Occupation Farmer.[2]

George Arthur Savage and Beulah Gertrude Wilkins married on 18 October 1911 at the Baptist Church, Manhattan, Riley, Kansas.[3] Their marriage was reported in The Miltonvale Record:

Mr. Geo. A. Savage and Miss Beulah Wilkins were quietly married in the new Baptist Church in Manhattan, Kansas, Wednesday, October, 18th., 11, Rev. A. W. Atkinson performing the ceremony. This marriage was the first to take place in the new church. Mr. Savage is a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Savage. He was born and has made his home in the Meredith neighborhood. He has many friends in this and Ottawa county and in the K. S. A. G, from which institution he graduated in 1909. Mrs. Savage is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Wilkins. She is a well liked and an accomplished young lady. Having lived all her life with her parents on their farm in Ottawa county, she is known by nearly everyone in the surrounding country and all count her as a friend. She is also one of Ottawa county's successful music teachers. They will return home, this week, and soon begin housekeeping on the Chas. Colvin farm. Their many friends will join with the Record in wishing them a long and happy wedded life together.

In the 1920 US census, George Savage was age 34 living at Oakland, Cloud, Kansas with his wife Beulah Savage (27), children Abraham Savage (7), Maurine Savage (3), James Savage (0). Occupation Farming.[4]

George's wife Bueluh died in 1920. George married widow Ferol Wilson (nee. Ballard).

In the 1930 US census, George Savage was age 45 living at Meredith, Cloud, Kansas with his wife Ferol Savage (36), children Abraham Savage (16), Maurine Savage (13), James Savage jr (11), step-son Orville Wilson (13).[5]

In the 1940 US census, George Savage was age 55 living at Meredith, Cloud, Kansas with his wife Ferol Savage (46).[6]

George died in 1961. He was buried at Oakland Union Cemetery, Miltonvale, Cloud, Kansas.[7]
