He later became a slave of William B Nuttall, husband of Mary Wallace Savage Nuttall Jones. Flanders was on El Destino Plantation in 1835 when Nuttall took out a mortgage using Flanders and other slaves as collateral. [3][4]
In the 1841 estate inventory for Mary Anderson Wallace Savage, his full appraised value was $350.00, and his half value $175.00.
