Biography

US Black Heritage Project
Nancy Savage is a part of US Black heritage.

Nancy was born before 1835. She died after 1841. She is the second woman named "Nancy" in this list.

Nancy was enslaved by Mary Anderson Wallace Savage and her daughter, Mary Wallace Savage Nuttall Jones, of Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia.[1][2]

Nancy later became a slave of William B Nuttall, husband of Mary Wallace Savage Nuttall Jones. Nancy was on El Destino Plantation in 1835 when Nuttall took out a mortgage using Nancy and other slaves as collateral. [3][4]

19 Jun 1832 (Date of Marriage): "List of Negroes secured to Mary W. Savage by settlement at the time of her intermarriage with Wm. B. Nuttall."

"The list was written in or after 1845 with a view to use in litigation. The slaves were in the corps of El Destino." All quotes are from the Florida Plantation Records from the papers of George Noble Jones, "List of Slaves in the Bequest of Thomas Savage", p. 529-530.[5]
