Later I started compiling all the Savards in North America. I never finished it since a group of individuals completed the search and produced a book before me.

Joseph "Uapistan" Savard was my grandfather through his daughter Angeline Marie Alice Savard Carpentieri. My grandfather was born to Joseph Savard and Julianne Cripaud on February 14, 1874. He married Marie Angele Hervieux on July 11, 1904, and passed away on April 13, 1970, at d'hôtel-Dieu de Hauterive, Pointe-Lebel, La Cote-Nord. Please respond to this post if you would like me to forward a copy of the obituary. I also have a handwritten record of marriages going back to 1687, and a copy of Paul Provencher's book "Last of the Coureurs de Bois" which has many of the photos that are posted on the Joseph Savard (1860 - aft. 1942) page.
Hey, potential eighth cousin once removed! We may be descendants of Thibault-262, assuming that we didn't mess up our research, hahah. I'm in Michigan if you happen to need help getting records from here (especially in the Metro Detroit area), or I can try my best to help you with anything else. Not sure if you're aware of FamilySearch.org which can be very useful for searching for records in the US, Canada, and some other countries, you just need to create a free account to use it. Good luck and happy holidays!
We are 8th cousins 1x removed via Rene Brisson-14 your 7th Great Grandfather and my 8th Great Grandfather.
We have 201 ancestors in common in 30 generations with 115 of those in the first 15 generations!

Hi, Car, yes obviously Mere is Mother for a nun. I was trying to make a different point. The G2G conversation indicated that the title (Sister, Mother) should go in the prefix as it's not her name. AND they were all talking about "Sister" and no one used "Mother" are they interchangeable in the Catholic faith?
Thanks for your message on the Cecile Kaorate page. I had originally found wrong information (dates and spelling) and thought to create the Cecile Kaorate interest page to bring her descendants together. I started that page a while back but have not done anything with it since. I thought I would have more time to figure out the site.
I too am a Metis descendant. I come from two of heroffspring. Pierre Blackburn ->Edmond Barette and Marie-Anne Blackburn ->William Deschenes. I have posted the link in the Facebook group for Cecile Kaorate Ancetre. You can join it if you like and post info you have.
Have you done your DNA? I have tested on both Ancestry and 23andme.
