Biography

"Elizabeth was born on May 1, 1638.[1] at Watertown (Vital Records); by elimination, she is undoubtedly the daughter who mar. _____ Sterling and was dead by 1692 per her father's will. Her husband is probably Daniel Sterling, who was at the Groton garrison in 1675 (Bodge). A Daniel Sterling was taxed in 1688 as a single person at Little Cambridge (now Newton, Mass.) and died in 1690 in the disastrous expedition to Quebec, evidently unmarried, leaving a nuncupative will bequeathing all to two friends (The Register 31:304; Middlesex County Probate, No. 21196). He would probably be a son. Perhaps another child was Sarah Sterling who mar. Ralph Farnum at Andover, Mass., 9 Oct 1685 and d. 12 April 1732, although A.M. Sterling's Sterling genealogy says that she was a daughter of William and b. 4 May 1669." [2]

When Elizabeth was about 20 she married William Sterling in 1659 in Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts, United States. The couple had one child: Daniel Sterling.[3]

Elizabeth died at the age of 37 on 6 June 1675 in Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts, United States.[3]

She is buried in Pentucket Cemetery, Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts.[4]
