Jim Sawyer Sr. is part of a Bahamian family.


James 'Jim Bolton' Bennett Sawyer was born in 1861 in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco, Bahamas to William Henry Sawyer and Euphemia Lowe Sawyer. As a seaman, he travelled the north and south Atlantic Ocean on ships.

Jim had a son with Romalda Jane Lowe in 1880-81. "Malda" called him James Bennett Sawyer, Jr. The two never married.

"Jim Bolton" married Eva Edith (Lowe) about 1884. The couple had a daughter Lula Louise and an unnamed son in 1887. Eva Sawyer died in 1911.

James 'Jim Bolton' Bennett Sawyer passed away 12 December 1944 at Green Turtle Cay, Abaco, Bahamas. He was 85 years of age.
