John Sawyer was a son of Thomas Sawyer and Mary (Prescott) Sawyer, born 6 April 1661 in Lancaster, Massachusetts.[1][2][3]
He was married to Mary Bull of Worcester, Massachusetts, in Lancaster on 16 June 1686. Her surname is sometimes given as Ball, but Barlow states that this is incorrect. He suggests that she may have been the daughter of Isaac Bull and Mary (Parker) Bull of Boston, who in 1686 were residing in Worcester. [1]
John Sawyer received land in Lancaster by deed from his father, Thomas Sawyer Sr., on 4 January 1692/3.[4]
John Sawyer removed to Lyme, Connecticut, a few years before 1706, when his father died. John died there before 6 March 1706/5 [sic] when his father made his will.[5]
