Biography
From Smith: "William Becks Sawyer, born 20 April 1805 in Pasquotank Co., NC; died 30 April 1887 in Lauderdale Co., Tenn. Went to Ohio in his mid twenties, then to Indiana, Illinois, eventually back to North Carolina; married Charlotte Williams; moved to Tenn., settling on a farm in Lauderdale Co.; married Fanny Wright in 1838; justice of the peace for several years; free mason."
