Biography

Gilbert was born about 1886 at Greenock, Renfrewshire. He was the son of Alexander Sayers and Agnes Mill.

In 1901 he was living with his parents - Alexander and Agnes - his sister Jemmia and two boarders at 27 Nicholson St, Greenock, Renfrewshire[1]. He was an Apprentice Joiner aged 15 born at Greenock.
