"Elder Daniel Sayler was born in Lancaster county, Pa., on December 30, 1749. He died in Frederick county, Md.,September11,1839. He, with his parents, were among the first brethren in what was afterwards was so far and widely known among the members of the Brethren Churches the Beaver Dam Church. Daniel and his wife united early in life with this church and soon became prominent members of it. Daniel was early called to the ministry in it. He soon became known as an able exponent of the tenets of the church, and his services were in demand much of the time. He spoke in the German language, which was the language of his fathers, and which predominated at that time."
Daniel Sayler moved from Lancaster county, Pa. with his family to Frederick county, Md. in the spring of 1772.
