Hannah Scarborough I (aka Scarburgh) was the first daughter born to Capt. Edmund Scarborough and his wife Hannah (Smith) Scarborough. She was christened on January 13, 1622, at St. Martin in the Fields church, London, England. Alas, she died the next day, and was buried nearby in London, England.
She should NOT be confused with her younger sister: Hannah (Scarborough) Wise, also named Hannah, who was born on Christmas Day 1625 at the family's estate in Norfolk, England. It was the younger Hannah Scarborough that emigrated with her mother and siblings to Virginia in 1635, meeting her father who was already there, and who later married John Wise Sr., Esquire in Accomack County, Virginia, raising their family at Clifton, Accomack, Virginia.
