Bio by: Cheryl L. Buckler

George Haworth died on November 28, 1724, and was buried at the Buckingham Family Buring Ground (FBG), Buckingham Township, Bucks County. Sarah lived on for many years. In about 1731, she remarried to Mathew Hall originally from Staffordshire in England. They had four children, David, Sarah, Maholn, and Margery Hall. They remained in Bucks County. She died on February 4, 1748. Both George and Sarah are buried in Bucks County, in the Buckingham Friends Burial Ground.

Sarah Scarborough, the daughter of John Scarborough and his wife Mary, was born in Bucks, Pennsylvania, on April 4, 1694. (The Quaker record book shows "04 Second 1694." That would be the 4th day of the second month, which, in 1694, was April. The birth record was made at the Falls Monthly Meeting, Pre-Hicksite, Orthodox; Philadelphia Yearly Meeting.[2]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sarah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sarah:

I am confused. This profile says she was born 4 Apr 1694. find A Grave has two different dates. On the record it has

4 Feb 1694 and in the biography it has Sarah Mary Scarborough- b: 2 MAR 1692/93. Which is correct?

If you read the last paragraph of the biography above you will see how the date of 04 Apr 1694 was determined. I will send a request to the FAG memorial manager to have that date corrected.

If you should find other profiles containing such questions, please include all pertinent data to help with the correction, such as an FAG memorial ID.

From her father's research notes: Now deleted

The records of Falls monthly meeting show that on 9 mo. 28, 1710, Sarah Scarborough was married to George Haworth at the Meeting House in Buckingham township.  The records of the same meeting show that in 10th-mo., 1712, Mary Scarborough, daughter of John and Mary Scarborough, was married to John Fisher at the Meeting House in Buckingham township.  Here we have the record of the marriages of three daughters of John Scarborough at the Falls meeting, between the years 1710 and 1719.  John Scarborough lived in Solebury at this time, and prior to the year 1720 all the Buckingham and Solebury Friends belonged to Falls Monthly Meetings, and the marriages were all recorded there.

Sarah Scarborough, daughter of John Scarborough, who married George Haworth in 1710, married the second time, Mathew Hall, who came from Staffordshire, England, about the year 1701.  They were married in 1732, and lived in the northwest corner of Buckingham, near Cottageville, and subsequently removed to Chester County, Pa.  Then followed three generations Mahlon Halls, in succession to Mathias H. Hall, who is a lineal descendant of John Scarborough, and resides near Wrightstown, Bucks county.
