Biography

My genealogical interests mainly consist of Sicilian families that immigrated to Texas in the late 1800s. More specifically, I have a strong focus on the comune of Poggioreale in the Trapani province, from which my surname originates. My goal is to account for all Poggiorealesi (and descendents) on WikiTree, utilizing civil records from the 1800s (available for free on FamilySearch.org) as well as information given to me personally from family records.

Key surnames of interest from Poggioreale: Scamardi, Corte, Labruzzo, Allegro.

I have undertaken an effort to index all birth/marriage/death records from Poggioreale that are available on FamilySearch. I intend to use this as a tool to create WikiTree profiles for all Poggioreale families.

I also have an interest in immigrants from Corleone, a group which includes my paternal grandmother's family. I am less active in this field given the full body of information available from other researchers on WikiTree. Still, I intend to contribute as much as possible.

Key surnames of interest from Corleone: Cascio, Mauro, Ferrara, Gagliardo.

Digital Afterlife

To aid WikiTree in the administration of my account should I be incapacitated, or in the event of my death, I hereby give permission for all unlisted profiles I'm managing to be transferred to the following WikiTreers, whether or not they are currently on the Trusted Lists:

Any profiles of non-living people that I manage should have privacy set to "Open" should I be incapacitated or in the event of my death.

Profiles can be divided equally between interested parties.

Hello, cousin! Welcome to Wikitree. I see you have connections with immigrants from Corleone, Sicily, to Bryan, Texas. This is one of my areas of interest, as well. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Hi Dominic---

I noticed your tag for Texas. I thought I would let you know that WikiTree has a project Texas Project, which I am the project Coordinator, Paula J. is leader. This is a subproject of US History Project.

After you add your family, take a look at the project.. We have many pages and many (254) county pages for this state.
