Friedrich Schaeffer has roots in the region now known as Hessen, Germany.
Friedrich Schaeffer was a Volga German.
Friedrich was born in 1739. Friedrich was one of the founders of the Catholic village of Kamenka on the hilly side of the Volga River. Brent Mai reported at an AHSGR conference in September 2020 that most 18th-c. Hessians were Lutheran, but there was also a Catholic minority in that region. Friedrich passed away in 1804.
