Frederick served in "Butler's Rangers from 1778 to 1784.
He was in Col. Ten Broeck's company in the raid and massacre in the Wyoming Valley of Pennsylvania in July, 1780, and in October 1780 he made his way to Niagara. He was discharged at Niagara in January 1784 and returned to New York.
He immigrated with his family to Osnaburck Township, Stormount County, Upper Canada West, in the fall of 1800 and resided at Lunenburgh, near his brother Nicholas.
