Johann Henrich, or Heinrich, was a son of Maria Elizabeth Schaeffer and her husband Johannes. He was born about 1698 in Germany.
He immigrated to America with his family. Johann Heinrich Schaster was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Queensberg, New York, on 23 March 1712 at Queensberg (West Camp Luth. Chbk.).
He married Anna Maria Margaretha (known as Maria Margaretha) Schaeffer, daughter of Gerhard Schaffer and Anna Maria Saugeressig, in Schoharie (Schoharie County), New York in 1722.
Children of Henrich Schaeffer and Maria Margaretha Schaeffer were:

Christian, born 7 Sep 1723 in Schoharie, New York; married Maria Elisabetha Kniskern in the Lutheran Church in Schoharie on 20 October 1747. There were no children; he died in 1767. He is often described with the title "Captain" and in one record is called a "cripple".

Heinrich died on 29 August 1776 in Schoharie, New York, at the reported age of 78, and was buried there on 31 August 1776.
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Heinrich by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with Heinrich:
