Richard Philip Schafrath (March 21, 1937 – August 15, 2021) was an American offensive lineman for the Cleveland Browns, former Ohio State Senator, and author.

Dick Schafrath was born in Wooster, Ohio in 1937 and was the son of Norman and Mary Schafrath. ^[1]

Dick attended The Ohio State University and played football for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and later for the Cleveland Browns, helping them win the 1964 NFL Championship.

He died in 2021 and was interred at Mansfield Cemetery.^[2]

Mansfield - Richard Phillip Schafrath, 84, of Mansfield, passed on Sunday, August 15, 2021.

The son of Norman and Mary (Star) Schafrath, Richard was born on March 21, 1937.

Richard leaves behind his wife of thirteen years, Judith Rush; his children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother. (Note:Obituary edited). ^[3]
