Biography of Philipp SCHAUF of 1853

Philipp Andrew Schauf was born November 3, 1853 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York. He was the son of Philipp Leonhardt Schauf and Philippina Betz.

Philipp Andrew Schauf is the second son of Philipp Schauf to bear the name of his father. His older brother of the same name passed away in 1849 or 1850, and so this child is Philipp Andrew Schauf and his mother is definitely Philippina Betz. His brother probably had a different mother who was Philipp's first wife Anne.

Philipp Andrew Schauf probably lived on Spring Street in Buffalo, but we are not sure of the family address in 1853. The family had moved to Mortimor Street by 1859.

Philipp Andrew Schauf passed away on September 27, 1854, in Buffalo, Erie County, New York at the age of 10 months and 24 days.

Philipp Andrew Schauf is probably buried in Concordia Cemetery on Walden Street in Buffalo, New York, but many of the headstones have sunk beneath the surface, so we don't know yet if his headstone has been recovered by the Concordia Cemetery Association. More research is necessary.
