Biography

Basil was apparently the only child from Charles Schell and Lottie Wells. His maternal grandfather's proper given name was apparently Bazaleel, but most civil records show his namesake rendered as Basil. He married Eva Jackson, daughter of George and Mildred (Thomas) Jackson. Among their children were:

  • Earl
  • Pearl
  • Helen
  • Ruth

Most census show he either owned or worked at a shoe store.
