FAMILY GROUP PHOTO taken about 1897 -- Philip and Jane (Bear) family. L to R - back row standing: Lou, Hugh, Jake, Ceph, John, Lillie. L to R- seated: Elizabeth Yocum Schell (mother of Philip), Philip Schell, Jane Bear Schell, Fate (Lafayette), and Andrew. L to R- children in front: Lee, and Joe. Identification made about 1986 by Gretchen Schell Hendrickson, granddaughter of Philip & Jane. She verbally stated that the photo included all living children of Philip and Jane. She struggled to remember Lillie Belle's name, and later said that she was sometimes called Lydia. :Lillie Belle died in 1926 from cancer, and Gretchen hadn't heard her name for many years. The written photo identification was preserved by Gayle Foster, and later scanned and shared.
