Biography

James was born May 31, 1892 in Greenville, Hunt County, Texas. He was the son of Calvin Schell and Alice Bunch.

On November 28, 1915 he married Myrtle Shockley in Red River County, Texas. [1]

James registered for the WWI draft in Bowie County, Texas. He listed he was born May 31, 1892 in Greenville, Texas, that he was a self employed farmer and that he was married. James is described as being tall, slender with blue eyes and black hair. [2]

On April 25, 1942 he registered for the WWII draft in Woodford, Carter County, Oklahoma. He lists his date of birth as May 31, 1892 in Hunt County, Texas. James is self employed and he lists L. D. Akers as the person who will always know his address. He is 5'11 1/2, 134 pounds, Grey eyes and hair with a light complexion. [3]
