||Roelof Garretse Schenck was a New Netherland Descendant 1674-1776.|
Join: New Netherland Settlers Project
Birth: Apr. 27, 1697 Pleasant Valley (Monmouth County) Monmouth County New Jersey, USA Death: Aug. 22, 1768 Pleasant Valley (Monmouth County) Monmouth County New Jersey, USA
Roelof was known as "Brewer Roelof" to distinguish him from his cousin "Black Roelof."
IMPORTANT NOTE: This memorial is based on information provided in Beekman's "Early Dutch Settlers of Monmouth County." I have not yet been able to verify that this grave still exists.
Note that the headstone inscription as provided by Beekman has a different spelling for Roelof. I am going with that used on DK Conover's Conover family genealogy site. Over time it's likely there have been more different ways to spell this name than any other of the old Dutch names.
Before transfer, thom healy gave his name as Roelif Schanck, and included note he was son of Garrit.
