Schirck Name Study

Biography of George W. SCHIRCK of 1865

  • George Schirck was born in September 1865, shortly after the end of the United States Civil War. George was the youngest child of Michael Schirck and his first wife Mary Conrad. George's mother died in childbirth. George was her ninth child.
  • George Schirck married and had at least two children:
    • A son born in 1893 who died at birth.
    • Hazel Schirck, born 1896 who married Jesse Culbertson, and did a lot of genealogical research.
  • George Schirck lost his wife Carrie Siefer Schirck on April 3, 1916, leaving him a widower. His daugher Hazel was 20 at the time of Carrie's death.
  • George Schirck passed away on July 17, 1944 in Warren, Pennsylvania, and is buried with his wife Carrie Siefert Schirck in Oakland Cemetery, Warren County, Pennsylvania.

NOTE: George Schirck is not to be confused with George A. Schirck, a relative.
