Biography of Carrie B. SCHIRCK CHENEY HAYWARD
Carrie B. Schirck was born May 20, 1853 on her parent's farm on Yankee Bush Hill, Conewango Township, Warren County, Pennsylvania, the youngest child of Jacob Schirck and his wife Catherine Schuler.
Carrie B. Schirck was one of several siblings:
Catherine Schirck who died in infancy.
Jacob Schirck, III, born August 1845, who enlisted in the Pennsylvania 10th Infantry Reserves was killed at Second Bull Run
Phillip Schirck who enlisted in the 111th Pennsylvania Infantry, survived the Civil War and married Amelia Reig, and passed away August 24, 1924.
Mathias Schirck, born August 24, 1846 and married Anna Baker on July 3, 1873.
Catherine Schirck, born June 30, 1848, who married Civil War POW survivor Lawrence Lesser.
Mary M. Schirck, born November 14, 1850 who married William Yeagle and moved to Russell, Pennsylvania.
Carrie B. Schirck, born May 20, 1853, who married Clayton Cheney, was widowed and married Fenton B. Hayward.
Carrie B. Schirck married Clayton Cheney on February 19, 1873, and they did not have any children. Clayton Cheney passed away on August 20, 1897, leaving Carrie B. a widower. They were married for 24 years and six months.
Carrie B. Schirck remarried to widower Fenton B. Hayward on October 5, 1899, and they did not have any children. Fenton B. Hayward died on December 22, 1914. They were married for fifteen years. Carrie B. was Fenton's second wife. His first wife Martha had passed away in 1896.
Carrie B. Schirck Cheney Hayward passed away in Russell, Warren County, Pennsylvania on May 16, 1941.
