The President of the Republic of the United States of Brazil appointed Captain Surgeon of the Fourteenth Infantry Battalion of the National Guard of the Cruz Alta-RS Region. Palace of the Presidency in RIO DE JANEIRO on 05/11/1901, thirteenth of the Republic. President Campos Salles. An interesting account involving his name was about the origin of the name of the Canudos neighborhood in Novo Hamburgo-RS. In front of the Catholic Church of the Canudos district there was a ballroom called "Salão Schirmer" and there was a musical band only of flute and clarinet called "Banda dos Canudos" in relation to this band gave the name of the Neighborhood Canudos. Felippe was leader of the Band of the Canudos and was part of this descendants of Jacob Schirmer (Posto Schirmer) of Campo Bom-RS. Felippe, besides playing wind instruments, played the violin.
