It’s Germany Project check-in time again! Please respond within the next 2 weeks and let me know if you’re still interested in participating with the Project. Remember, the only requirements for membership in the Germany Project are (1) that you work on at least one German profile every 6 months and (2) that you respond to this check-in.
Since you’re not working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams yet, please look at our main Project page for a full list and let me know which team you’d like to join.
Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. In your response, we welcome any feedback you may want to give on the project (what you like about it, what you’d like to see us do, what we could change, etc.)
If you ever have any questions, please ask. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

It's Thon time again! The Source-a-Thon will be held from 1-4 Oct 2021 and the last day to register is 29 Sept. Do you want to participate with the Germany Genies again in this Thon? We could use your help sourcing German profiles (or any other profiles you'd like to source). Use this link to get to the G2G sign up post. Click the "answer" link at the bottom of the post and, when the answer box pops up, mention that you want to be on the Germany Genies team.
See our Team page for more info: Germany Genies.
Best regards, Traci
Thanks for participating with the Germany Genies during this weekend's Connect-a-Thon. It was a lot of fun working together to expand our shared tree. Your hard work is appreciated and I hope you'll join our team again!
Warm regards, Traci
Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
I hope this helps! If you have any questions or problems, let me know.
Take care,

Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.
It looks like the England Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Thanks for the welcome! Just one question - I FINALLY figured out how to embed my sources in the paragraph and get them posted down below so they show up in numerical order, however, when did that the source showed up twice - once with the number referring to the source in the biography paragraph and once without. Do you know what I am doing wrong? I want to be good at writing biographies and sourcing if I am going to go at this in 2021 (which is my intent and why I did the certification) so that's why I'm asking for help. Thanks!!! and Happy New Year!
Sarah
That will happen when you list the source under the 'Sources' header and add them as an inline citation. If you add them inline in the biography then you do not need to add them under sources. As you have seen they will just appear there when you save it. It is great that you have that goal for 2021. The whole of WikiTree is working on that for 2021. If you have any questions let me know. I have asked many questions and still do. There is always something new to learn. 🙂
Happy New Year!!!
Laura
Thanks for joining us! I hope you're enjoying our site and our community. I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Has the New Member How To Pages been helpful or has it left you with questions?
It's great to have you on board. Enjoy your time here, and good luck growing your branches. If you need help just click on my name you'll be transferred to my profile where you can post a message or send me a private message.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
Start with the New Member How-To Pages - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around:
Let me know if you require assistance. I am happy to help. After adding my own family and ancestors I have found many cousins and distant ancestors here on WikiTree.
