Phillip Schmidtt was born in 1893. He is the son of William Schmitt and Amy Petche. ^[1]

In 1901, Phillip was residing with his parents, four siblings and maternal grandmother in Battersea, London. ^[2]

In 1911, Phillip was an 18-year-old Billiard marker. He was still living with his parents and siblings in Camberwell. ^[3]
