Biography

Wilhelm Schmitt was born in 1821. He married Margaretha Sentz born the same year 1821 in Friedrichsthal. The Schmitt belonged to a well-known glassmaker family. Wilhelm stepped into the footsteps of his forefathers and learned the glass making trade, from his father. According to records 1875, he worked as a warden at the local glassworks.
