William Nicholas Schmitt was born on July 12, 1877 in Salem, Richardson Co, Nebraska, United States, son of William Ochs (>1841–1894) and Elizabeth Ann Kenner (1852–1909).[1]

In 1880, William N Smith (2), was a single son, in the household of William Smith (39) in Salem, Richardson, Nebraska, United States. [1]

William (22) married Mary Ellen Kent (24) (born on August 10, 1874 in Falls City, Richardson Co; daughter of Joseph Thomas Kent and Mary Frances (Lord) Kent) on July 26, 1899 in Richardson Co. Their children were:

William died on August 25, 1959 in Fergus Falls, Otter Tail Co, Minnesota, United States, aged 82.
