Biography
Elizabeth Schmitz married Ludwig Gottfried Peter Wimar and had one son, Carl Ferdinand Wimar (1828-1862)
Ludwig died in 1834, and Elizabeth married Mathias Becker (1799-1864) and was the mother of at least five of his children. Elizabeth and Mathias emigrated from Prussian to America and resided in St Louis, Missouri by 1850.
Elizabeth's sons, Carl (aka Charles) Wimer and August Hubert Becker worked together painting murals and moving panoramas, achieving fame in the St. Louis area. Their work can still be seen in public buildings, including the courthouse, in St. Louis. [1]
