Biography
Maria Schneider (possibly Maria Barbara) was born about 1649. (calculated from death record); or on February 16, 1648 in Öschingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany to parents Hans Jacob "Wilhelm" and Maria Bucklin Leonhard Schneider.
Maria married Michael or Michel Mouser / Mauser about 1699 in Öschingen and they had several children,[1] the most thoroughly proven being son Caspar.
Maria Mauser survived her husband Michael's death and she passed away on January 8, 1728 in Öschingen at the age of 79 years.[2]
burial at Friedhof Öschingen (Öschingen Cemetery / Graveyard)[3] along with eleven other family members. [4]

I don't know why there is an "uncertain" by her name. Her birth record is damaged from what appears to be ink stains, but her name "Maria" (no Barbara), birth year, birth month and birth day are given. From there we would have to "play the odds", which would seem to be in our favor. However, Hermann Griebel, the regional family researcher, who is the author of "Ortsfamilienbuch von Öschingen 1646-1920 " has compiled the church records of Öschingen in this book (as well as Talheim and Mössingen-Belsen in two separate books) and has confirmed these dates as belonging to Maria Schneider Mauser, daughter of Jacob Schneider and Marina LNU. The only thing I would question would be the lineage given of Maria's mother, given as "Leonhardt" from "Ellmendingen" in the Pforzheim area, 56 miles to the northwest of Öschingen. Seems a little too distant, which would be out of character with these villages in the Steinlach valley.
I have read the references you mentioned and wrote a very extensive profile / bio for two profiles of spouses for profiles I managed (doh!)but the surnames were going back in the Metzger / Merk lines, I believe. I agree about the location connections made here and will check what I can as well. Cheers! Becky
Schneider-1165 and Schneider-2183 appear to represent the same person because: Schneider-1165 and Schneider-2183 appear to be the same as they have the exact name and birthplace (with approximate birthdate). They are also linked to the same husband Michael Mauser and same son Caspar. All are direct great grandparents of mine and I picked up the orphaned profile while checking a GED.com upload.
Apparently the profile match wasn't detected because prior to being "orphaned" it was private. Also there are duplicates for the son Caspar, her son's wife and other family members of which I have already proposed or performed merges.
I don't mind which profile is kept but I would like to be on a trusted list so that I can continue adding the sources and comparisons that were started and we can edit together if necessary. Thanks! Becky
I am guessing because I had the name listed per German nomenclature standards with both names in the proper name line as it wasn't considered a first and middle name, especially at this time. It seems someone changed it to a first and middle name, then marked it uncertain either for formatting questions (to point it out) or perhaps unsure why I had "no middle name" checked. Thanks for the post or it would've taken me another few weeks to get back around to these profiles.
