Married 2 Maria Magdalena Knorrn (widow of Abraham Knorrn of Morstadt) Born Morstadt, Hessen, Germany. Married Feb 22 1694.Died Feb 22 1694. This Johannes, referred to as the younger by Jones (p.897), did not emigrate to America with his son and father.

Johannes / Hanss still needs quite a bit of research done. Johannes Schneider is a very common name, so we need to double check that we have the correct person. This may also be a mixture of more than one man named Johannes. For example, we have 2 death dates: Dec 7 1713 and April 29 1734. Also, the Johannes with a baptism date has Anna listed as his mother. Johannes' marriage to Margretha Haffner does list his father as Adam Schneid. We also need verification from actual German records since the ones we have from Family Search and Ancestry give no link to any.

Help

From the meager research I did on Johannes Schneid / Schneider, I get the feeling that there were two men with this name. One married Margrethe Haffner and the other Margrethe Amend. We'd have to do more research on them to see if we can figure out which one is ours. Johannes and Hanns are the same name, but I know that in the Netherlands one family would name two children the exact same name (one for daddy's daddy and one for mommy's daddy). I don't know if it was the same for this part of Germany. So there's the possibility they're brothers or (more likely) cousins.

I think i found that Margaretha Haffner married to

Hanss Schneider (1653-1713, married 23 Feb 1664 in Rothenberg Twin of Johannes ? or cousin ? Not Hanss George, married Anna Margaretha Bechtel.

It would explain the children's ages and names.
