Thanks for your answer. To encourage you, I posted on my tree a new person today that I found after years of looking. In finding his death record, I found other very important facts. "Stuff Happens!"--in a good way, sometimes. Keep hunting.

My Schneider on anc.com turned into several Schneiders today too. I'm not on there all the time and in 2 days my expensive subscription stops. I'll try to get the tree synced so I can keep searching.

A suggestion: On your item for her on Anc.com, try entering both mother and father's surname as Schneider (but no first name). Then in "Add Fact" as a Residence item for both of them, state the year of Cathrine's birth as Steinsfurt, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. While this may or may not be accurate, it can result in a hint for one or the other or both.
Catherine (Schneider) Bergdoll never married a man named Shantz. Her second husband was named Stein. Whoever Mr. Shantz married, it wasn't the widow Bergdoll. Therefore, I've cut the link.

When you or anyone cite(s) NY Passenger Lists, 1820-1957, there is usually data from the original listing that follows (ancestry.com), and we would appreciate more of that. I have a Schneider ancestor from that area of Baden so I am intent on finding specific data. Others on WTree are the same.
