Stephan Schneider was born 1799 in Nachtsheim the son of Nicholas Schneider and Barbara May. He married Catharina Berend on 24 Sep 1841 in Mayen; Catherina was born 1807 in Nachtsheim. They immigrated to Wisconsin with his brother's family. Stephan bought land 10 May 1848 in Fond du Lac.[1] In 1860 they had six children aged 9 to 20 years. [2] Stephan died 10 Jan 1863 in Johnsburg, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and Catherina survived him till 27 Feb 1889.
