Johann Schneider was born on 6 December 1878 in Remagen, Germany.[1][2] He was the son of Carl Joseph Schneider and Christina Nagel .[3] He was baptized on 10 December 1878 at St. Peter und Paul in Remagen.[4] The baptismal sponsors were Johann Nagel and Adelheid (Lindlohr) Krause.[5]
Johann left Remagen with his family in 1892.[7] After he arrived in St. Louis, Missouri, he was called John. He became a citizen of the United States on 18 February 1898, when his father was naturalized.[8]
He married Paulina Gersbacher on 23 July 1902 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri.[9]
John first worked as a tailor.[10] By 1918, he was working as a manager for Modern Woodmen of America.[11] He graduated from City College of Law and Finance in St. Louis, Missouri on 2 June 1921 with the degree of Bachelor of Laws.[12] After his graduation, he worked as a lawyer.[13][14]
He was a member of the Men's Sodality of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Knights of Columbus Lafayette Council no. 1940, Modern Woodmen of America, and the Bar Association.[15]
John died on 11 June 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri.[16] He was buried in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri on 15 June 1955.[17][18][19]
