Some family records show that he died in 1926 or 1928 in Grimm, but I haven't been able to find a source for that. His wife traveled to the United States in 1913 and lived with her children until her death in 1915. That was well before the famines of the 1920s. Would she have traveled alone if her husband was still living? Did her husband send her to the United States because of fears for the outbreak of World War I? I have left the date above, but marked it as uncertain. Because of the widely used system of using the same names generation after generation, it may be that this date was applied to the wrong Friedrich and that it belongs to his son, nephew, or cousin.
