Biography

(Nicholas Allemang) married in 1764 to Magdalena Schneider, born in what is now known as Berlin, Germany. She was the daughter of John and Anna Margaretha Wotring Schneider and the granddaughter of Abraham Wotring. Magdalena’s parents, John b. 1718, and Anna Margartha b. 20-Oct-1725, m.1745, lived a short distance northwest of Egypts Church (Lehigh County, Pennsylvania), where they were killed in the Indian attack of 8-Aug-1763. They and three of their five children were killed. Magdalena, through the skill of the surgeons who attended her, has happily recovered. She combed her hair in such a manner as to cover that part of the bare skull from which the scalp had been torn.
