Bobbie Jean Bess

Bobbie Jean Bess, age 79, of Florala passed away November 17, 2016. She was born January 11, 1937 in Covington County to Jinks Schofield and Bertha Fleming Schofield. Bobbie Jean worked in the textile industries in Florala for over 50 years until ill health forced her retirement. She enjoyed cooking especially during the holidays and special family get togethers. Bobbie Jean left an immeasurable mark on her family as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Known to them as Bobbie Jean, Mama and Granny B, she will forever hold a dear and precious place in each of their hearts. Bobbie Jean's faith in Jesus Christ sustained her as she fought many health issues. She fought the good fight. She finishes the race. She kept the faith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Y.Z. Bess, sons, Danny and Keith Franklin, granddaughter, Chasidy Franklin, parents, Jinks and Bertha Schofield, brothers, Jimmy and Robert Schofield, sisters, Barbara Ann Schofield and Susan Rawls.

She is survived by son Terry Franklin and wife Debbie of Florala, sister, Dorthy Hoover of Paxton, grandchildren Tara Hadley, Amanda Franklin, Holly Woodham, Jamie Barton, Raylee Stewart, great grandchildren, Kyle Hadley, Bryson and Brittney Wise, Laken Hadley, Hailey Williams, Claire Woodham, Alysee and Emily Stephens. She is also survived by an abundance of extended love ones including numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Bobbie Jean Bess will be 2PM Monday November 21, 2016 from Evans Funeral Home with Ray Bundy and Phil McMillian officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
