Biography

Diane Scholten is a Nebraskan.

I was born in Omaha, Nebraska to George Scholten and Jerrie Glasgow Scholten.[1]

My interest in genealogy started "right on time" when I was 65 years old. I have organized extended clan reunions on my Rossum and Carroll lines. I have written a book about my Carroll great great grandparents, Edward Carroll and Margaret Brearton of Archbald, Pennsylvania: A narrative family history.[2]

This winter (2021-2022) I will be working on a narrative family history for William Gilbert Glasgow and Sarah Jane Rebecca Majors Glasgow, my great great grandparents on my Glasgow line.

The primary lines I am researching are paternal: - Scholten and Hendricks - Kloek - Rossum - Halvorson

maternal: - Glasgow and Majors - Peery - McManus - Carroll

I welcome connection with cousins near and far, close and distant!

Hello!!!!

As we start this first Thon of 2022, I just want to say thank you for being a Legacy Heir!!! Have fun with this one and remember, We take it at our own individual pace. If you like to love one profile all weekend, so be it! Make that the most beautiful profile you can. If you choose to do many profiles!!! That is great too!! Just make sure you have at least one good source. Even one contribution makes this amazing tree more beautiful, healthy and strong that it was before that contribution!!

Family, obligations and most importantly, YOU are more important than the thon! We love having you here, but if something comes up, elsewhere, take care of that first. You Rock Legacy Heirs, lets have some fun and connect some profiles!!

Hi there hun,

Just a quick reminder that starting tomorrow morning at 8 am Eastern time in United States is the source a thon. I am going to be in at that time (5 am here) but please do not worry if you have to come in hours or days later. Remember we work around family, etc... and even if only one per teammate gets done, that is one more that was not done before the thon. It all makes our tree better and stronger.

Hi hun, when we are updating profiles, it is best to talk to the profile manager before making big ones. Also, changes to profiles need to be documented and personal experiences and/or relationships, go in the memories not in the bio.
posted by Lisa (Kelsey) Murphy
Thank you i will work on that. Are you talking about William Gilbert Glasgow (for whom I added LOTS of documentation) or his wife Sarah Jane Rebecca Majors Glasgow?

Will work on Sarah tomorrow. thanks.

posted by Diane Scholten
I do appreciate the other documents and records. That is what we are all about here. However, going on a profile and deleting what the manager has on there and removing family from their profiles, is not. I have gone in and organized the documents you added and replaced the records and info that was on the profile in the first place and re-added his daughter which was born while Sarah and William were married and is in the 1860 United States Federal Census.

Hi Diane,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Add the project tag to your Following list to be kept up to date on any activity that occurs for that project.

Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)
