Biography

Petrus was born to Johannes Schoonmaker and his wife, Arriantje Hoogteeling. He was baptized 1737 Jun 26 by Domine Mancius with his aunt, Dina Hoogteeling, and his aunt's husband, Cornelis Nieuwkerk, as witnesses [1]. His siblings are Geertruy [2], Henrikus [3], Zamuel [4], Wilhelmus [5], and Johannes [6].

Schoonmaker-521 and Schoonmaker-511 appear to represent the same person because: New Paltz is right next to Kingston, and Schoonmaker-511 is the only recorded Petrus Schoonmaker of the proper age to marry [Van_Wagenen-74|Rachel Van Wagenen].
