Private Johann Wilhelm Frederick Schott served with Lancaster County Militia, Pennsylvania Militia during the American Revolution.

Johann Wilhelm "Frederick" Schott (aka Shoat, Scott or Shutt) was born in 1729.[1] He was the son of Otto Philip Schott and Anna Maria Flugel of Zweibrucken, Germany. (Note that his DAR record says that he was from Dornhan, which appears to be incorrect.)

Frederick Schott immigrated to Colonial Pennsylvania circa 1749.

Frederick Schott was married to Maria Odermann on December 16, 1760 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Johann Wilhelm "Frederick" Schott and his wife Barbara "Maria" Esther Odermann were parents of the following known children:

Frederick Schott aka Shoat fought as a private in the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania militia during the American Revolutionary War.[2][3] He is credited with this service as a verified patriot ancestor by the Daughters of the American Revolution.[4] Private Frederick Schott served with Captain Robert McKee's company under Colonel Alexander Lowrey's regiment.[5] [6]

Frederick Schott passed away in April of 1786.[7][8] He is buried at Saint Peter's Cemetery in Middletown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.[9]

Frederick Schott may have been a physician. [Shutt Descendants--all.FTW] No. 153847 Numerous ancestry trees link daughter Christiana "Scott" whose guardian Francis Hughes signed a marriage bond in 1789 at Greene County, Tennessee on her behalf. She is being linked as a possible daughter, but more research is needed.
