Hi Troy, I was told that your Schott family was from Grimm, Russia, so I thought I'd connect with you. My family is also from Grimm, and my great grandmother was Eva Kraft Schott. She and her husband Carl Fritzler immigrated to the United States in 1913. After a few years in Colorado, they moved too Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. All the Schotts in Grimm descend from Johann Jakob Schott, born around 1739, and his second wife Anna Margaretha Becker. I don't know how much Schott information you have, but let me know if you are interested in sharing. I have copies of the four major Grimm censuses plus some additional resources. If you'd like me to look up something for you, just let me know.

Hi, I am Dorothy, a WikiTree mentor!! Are you enjoying your time on WikiTree so far?

Now that you have had a little time to try our site, there are a few more features you may find useful:

For instance, ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards; including some tips on writing biographies

Also a friendly reminder about adding sources and references to your profile. Sources are critically important for genealogy and you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from. This page describes different kinds of sources: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Hi Troy,

Welcome to WikiTree. By now you should have received an email with helpful links to get you started on adding your family to ours. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team! What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests. When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.

Enjoy the experience,

Bill D  :-D
