Biography of Catherine SCHULER SCHIRCK
Catherine Schuler was born in Strassbourg, France on March 21, 1815, the daughter of Michael Schuler and his wife Catherine Hardwick
Catherine Schuler mmigrated to Conewango Township, Warren County, Pennsylvania in 1939 with her parents and siblings in 1839 when she was 24 years old.
Catherine Schuler married Jacob Schirck, Jr. on and became a farmer's wife. Jacob and Catherine had several children:
Phillip Schirck who enlisted in the 111th Pennsylvania Infantry, survived the Civil War and married Amelia Reig, and passed away August 24, 1924.
Mathias Schirck, born August 24, 1846 and married Anna Baker on July 3, 1873.
Catherine Schirck, born June 30, 1848, who married Civil War POW survivor Lawrence Lesser.
Mary M. Schirck, born November 14, 1850 who married William Yeagle and moved to Russell, Pennsylvania.
Carrie B. Schirck, born May 20, 1853, who married Clayton Cheney, was widowed, and remarried to Fenton B. Hayward.
Catherine Schuler Schirck lost her husband Jacob Schirck on September 20, 1856 and was a widow for over 40 years.
Catherine Schuler Schirck died in Warren, Pennsylvania on June 24, 1897 at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 3 days.
