Martha was born on 6 July 1881 in Swift Co., Minnesota. She was the daughter of Frederick Wilhelm Schultz and Anna Maria (Langsdorf) Schultz.[1][2][3]

When Martha was 20 she married Charles Augustus Wendler on 9 September 1901 in Goodhue Co., Minnesota. The couple had 3 children: Vivien Ellinora Wendler, Roland William Wendler and Dorothy Lillian Wendler.[5][6]
Martha died at the age of 88 on 10 March 1970 in Red Wing, Goodhue Co., Minnesota.[3]
Martha was buried after 10 March 1970 in Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing, Goodhue Co., Minnesota.

Obituary: Martha J. Wendler, 86, widow of the late Charles A. Wendler, 320 W. Seventh St., Red Wing, died at St. John’s Hospital Tuesday morning. She had been in failing health for more that three years, and hospitalized since Friday morning.
Born July 7, 1881 in Swift County near Appleton, MN, she was the daughter of William F. and Mary A. Schultz. She moved with the family to Minneola Township at the age of five months, and attended schools there.
When she was 16 years old the family moved to Red Wing, where on September 10, 1901, she was united in marriage to Charles A. Wendler. They continued to make their home in Red Wing and he preceded her in death February 24, 1958.
Mrs. Wendler was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, a charter member of VFW (Spanish-American War Widow) Ladies Auxiliary, Women’s Relief Corps, Royal Neighbors, Parish Aid of Christ Church and was formerly active in the Farmer Labor-Democratic Party.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lyman F. (Dorothy) Nelson of Red Wing and Mrs. George (Vivien) Fox of Ann Arbor, MI; one son, Roland W. Wendler of Fort Dodge, IA; six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Christ Episcopal church with the Rev. N. C. Schoenheider officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in the spring.
Friends may call at Ferrin Funeral Chapel Thursday from 2-9 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
