Biography

Elizabeth Schumacher(Schumacher-2380)-was born in 1846. She passed away in 1910. She was married to Benjamin Hilty(Hilty-83) Obituary-.Berne Witness, Adams County, Indiana Tuesday, Sept. 6, 1910 Mrs. Elizabeth Hilty died of heart failure at her late home several miles southwest of Bluffton Sunday night, about 11 o'clock, aged 63 years, 11 months, and 23 days. She had been attending Sunday school and preaching services at the Ebenezer church to the forenoon. While at the latter service, she took ill and was taken home by her son Philip. She passed away suddenly while sitting on her couch surrounded by members of her family. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schumacher and was married to Benjamin Hilty, who passed to his reward just twelve years ago on the day of her funeral. Mrs. Hilty is survived by seven sons and one daughter. The surviving sons are Rev. P. P. Hilty, of Donnelson, Iowa, Adam and Albert Hilty of Colfax, Washington; Chris, Amos, Philip, Gideon and one daughter, Miss Lizzie. She is also survived by seven brothers and seven sisters. Funeral services were held at the Ebenezer church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Gottshall officiating.
