From the Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, dated April 24, 1969:
"City Resident Died at 86, Funeral Set"
Phillip Schuppe, 86, a resident of the Lutheran Home For Aged, died at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday at St. Agnes Hospital.
He was born May 26, 1882, in Grimm, Russia, of German decent, a son of Phillip And Catherine Wolf Schuppe. He married Molly Dumler and she died in 1945. He married Katherine Leonhardt in 1947.
Mr. Schuppe came to the US from Russia in 1912. He was employed at the Fred Rueping Leather Co. for 25 years, retiring 21 years ago. He was a member of the Church of Peace United Church of Christ.
Surviving are his widow: 12 children, Phillip, Alex and Mrs. Bill Rendall, all of Racine; Mrs. Alex Krause of Newberry, Mich., Mrs. Jacob Schneider, Carl, August, Jacob, Mrs. Peter Kaiser Jr., Bertha, Herman and Walter, all of the city; 28 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two step-children, August Leonhardt and Mrs. Rose Pemberton, both of the city; six step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Church of Peace.
