Biography

George was born in 1818. He passed away in 1898.

Schuyler, George S., Glen, who was born in Glen February 22. 1818, was one of the five children of Jacob and Mary (Serviss) Schuyler of Florida, NY. The others were: Mary A., wife of Stephen Ostrom (deceased), James, Jacob and William. Jacob, the father, was born in New Jersey and came to Florida in early life. His father (also named Jacob) was born (it is thought) in Holland, emigrating to New Jersey when quite young. George S. Schuyler married first, Clarissa Van Schaick of Glen, one of seven chidiren of Thomas and Anna (TT.md) Van Scliaick. They had six children: Jacob of Dakota; Henry Newton of Illinois; Frederick, Sarah, wife of Reuben Dievendorf ; Antoinnette, wife of Adolphus Perrine; and Anna, wife of Abram Mabee. Mr. Schuyler married second, Anna Olin of Florida, and one son, Frank, surviving from this marriage.

Biography from Hudson Mowhawk Genealogy Vol 3.pdf page 1190 (280) : George Serviss, eldest son and child of Jacob and Mary (Serviss) Schuyler, was born on the farm in Glen, February 22, 1818, died there February 18, 1888. He was a prosperous farmer and owned the homestead. He married, in Glen, Clarissa Van Schaick, born in Glen in I829, died 1853, youngest daughter of Thomas G. and Anna (Hand) Van Schaick, both old Montgomery county families. Their other children were Marcus, John, Newton, Mary, Hannah and Cozenia. Children of George S. and Clarissa Schuyler: 1. Sarah, married Reuben 'Dievendorf, of Root, New York; children: 'George, Leslie, Edward, Albert, Anna and Jennie Dievendorf. 2. Jacob, married Emily Sanford; children: Sanford and Josephine Schuyler. 3. Henry N., married Adelaide Hayward; now a banker of Pana, Illinois; children: George and Ruth Schuyler. 4. Antoinette, married Adolphus Perrine, of Little Falls, New York; children: Fred, Clara and Mary Perrine. 5. Fred, see forward. 6. Anna, married Abraham Mabee, of Auriesville, New York; one infant daughter, Mary, deceased.
